We are Motörhead and we play Rock and Roll

Lemmy Tribute – Ian Fraser Kilmister (24/12/1945 – 28/12/2015)

Motörhead‘s founder in 1975.

The group’s biggest hits came in the 1980s and 1981, when it hit the UK charts thanks to albums like Ace of Spades y Overkill, and the live album No Sleep ’til Hammersmith. At that time the band became an icon of English heavy metal and one of the groups with the greatest influence on the heavy metal scene worldwide.

Despite the constant changes in the group’s line-up, the last line-up, with Lemmy accompanied by Phil Campbell (guitar) and Mikkey Dee (drums), had been playing since 1995.

Leading the trio, one of the last recorded songs was David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’, who happened to pass away days after Lemmy. The version was recorded during the sessions of the album ‘Bad Magic‘ and Motörhead only played ‘Heroes’ live once. She was included in a show in June 2015 at the German Aftershock festival as part of a bis.
